HOIC Volleyball Week 1 Recap

Posted by HOIC Volleyball at Sep 16, 2019 12:16PM PDT

Five HOIC volleyball teams remain unbeaten in conference play after one week of action. Dee-Mack, EPG, Eureka, Fieldcrest, and Tri-Valley all carry unblemished records into the second week of conference play. Play continues with Tuesday and Thursday conference matches this week. None of the unbeatens will square off head to head this week, however.

Since joining the HOIC, a historically strong volleyball conference, the Eureka Hornets have yet to lose a regular season conference volleyball match. The Hornets will look to add to their string of conference titles this year when the HOIC volleyball season begins. Despite their unblemished regular season record, the Hornets’ success had not translated to the conference tournament until last season’s championship run. It should be another strong volleyball season for the HOIC in 2019.

The Eureka boys track and field team took 1st place at the 2019 McLean County/HOIC Track Meet on May 6th in Gibson City. Tremont finished 2nd and Lexington-Ridgeview and El Paso-Gridley tied for 3rd. El Paso-Gridley took the title in the girls meet with Eureka taking second and GCMS third. Congratulations to all the team and individual winners!
