Ridgeview Boys Basketball Places 3rd at State Tourney PDF Print E-mail

The Ridgeview Mustangs downed Forreston 53-35 to capture 3rd place in the 2015 IHSA 1A State Basketball Tournament.  Congratulations to the Mustangs for representing the HOIC well at state.  HOIC schools have now won 37 state trophies (1st through 4th place) in various sports since the conference began play in the 2006-2007 school year.

 
HOIC Music Festival PDF Print E-mail

The HOIC Music Festival was held on March 10th at Illinois State University.  Band and choir students from HOIC schools assembled to put on an outstanding concert.  Thanks to all who helped organize this event.

 
Dee-Mack Volleyball Wins 2A State Title PDF Print E-mail

Dee-Mack defeated Dakota in three sets to win their 2nd Class 2A volleyball state title in the last three years.  The Chiefs won the state championship in 2012 and finished third in 2013.  Congratulations to Dee-Mack for another great volleyball run as they represented the HOIC in fine fashion.  Each year, the HOIC displays some of the best 1A/2A volleyball in the state of Illinois.

 
Ridgeview Boys, Tremont Girls Take McLean County Tournament Titles PDF Print E-mail

The top-seeds in both the boys and girls McLean County Basketball Tournaments prevailed on championship night.  In the boys tournament, #1 Ridgeview downed #2 Fieldcrest 71-53 to take the title.  #4 Flanagan-Cornell defeated #3 Tremont 63-51 for 3rd place, #7 Tri-Valley topped LeRoy 66-42 for 5th place, and #9 Fisher took care of #6 EPG for the Consolation Championship.

On the girls side, #1 Tremont held off #2 Tri-Valley 52-46 to capture its first tournament title.  #3 LeRoy defeated #4 Fieldcrest 43-41 for 3rd place, #8 EPG edged #10 Heyworth 53-50 for 5th place, and #7 Lexington outlasted #9 Dee-Mack 52-46 in overtime to capture the Consolation Championship.

Congratulations to all the winners and a big thank you from the HOIC to all who assisted in running the tournaments and to all of those who attended.

 
Tri-Valley wins HOIC Volleyball Tournament PDF Print E-mail

#2 Tri-Valley defeated top-seeded and regular season champion Dee-Mack 21-25, 25-17, 25-20 to win the 2014 McLean County/HOIC Volleyball Tournament.  The Vikings last won the tournament in 2012 and this is their 3rd tournament title in the 9-year history of the HOIC.  #3 Fieldcrest defeated #5 Lexington for 3rd place while #4 Heyworth downed #6 Tremont to win the 5th place match.  EPG defeated LeRoy to win the Consolation Championship.  The final 2014 McLean County/HOIC Volleyball Tournament bracket can be accessed by clicking here.
